"Oh my" Just kidding, Billy would never hurt Porter but he does love playing ball!

Watching the "chicken dance" chicken from Aunt Karen, it's hilarious!

He is fascinated by Billy!

More naked time with Daddy!

What a cutie!

Another ridiculous outfit for Porter, the poor guy!

Smiley:)

Three months old, what a big boy!

3 Months Old!

Our little boy is 3 months old! This post is a little late, but better late than never! He is still doing great. My return to work has made our mornings VERY busy! I get up at 5:30 and it takes at least 1.5 hours to get everyone ready and out the door! Porter is doing great at daycare, they are really getting to know him. We thought he was getting a little GI bug last week. He vomited once and wasn't eating well. Fortunately he recovered and never really got sick. Now he is getting some nasal congestion. Trevor also has similar symptoms. We're hoping that everyone recovers soon and that he doesn't get a fever. Porter can't go to daycare if he has a fever over 100 which means that one of us has to stay home with the l ittle guy. Apparently he can still go to daycare with a cough, runny nose etc it is just the fever they are concerned about. When I drop him off each morning it seems like half the babies have a cough or runny nose, it's a germ factory!

Porter's big milestones this month have been his smiling and talking. He loves to smile after waking up and during diaper changes! He still loves his mobile time each day. We are starting to sit him in his bebe pod seat to look at his play yard toys (a change in angle!). We have been carrying him around in the baby bjorn more as well. He likes to be able to see what is going on. Trevor uses it alot and they walk around the yard together. I'm not using the moby wrap as much because he doesn't have a good view! He is sleeping 4-6 hour stretches at night, not a whole lot of improvement. He did sleep from 11pm - 5:30am this weekend which is one of his best stretches yet. I think 7 hours is his best! However, 5:30am on a sunday morning is pretty early. Now that I am back to work he gets up at 6am on work days. He is on my work schedule and clearly does not know the difference between work and non-work days! We're working on that! I'm still waiting with high anticipation for him to sleep through the night! His best sleep habit is that he can get to sleep on his own rather than rocking and nursing him to sleep. I still cheat sometimes at naptime and let him use his binky, but he always go to bed on his own at night!

Picture Post!

Porter sporting his colorful outfit and favorite ski hat!

We had our first diaper rash this week. This was the "diaper-free" treatment plan. Here is the view from behind! His rash has resolved:)

More "diaper-free" time under the playyard. We did ALOT of laundry!

Smiles!!!

My friend, Marcu, visited with her husband and 6 month old, Stella! Stella was full of smiles!
It's amazing how much bigger a 6 month old feels from a 2 month old.

In Astoria for lunch, meeting my godparents.

Porter and mommy!

Good times under the playyard.

The Sunroom project continues

The pattern and color!
Another view of the pattern and color!

The unveiling of the tarp! This is still wet but it should look similar to this once it is sealed.

Cutting the concrete.
Trevor inside the tarp!

Billy still waiting for playtime!

It unfortunately rained the day they poured the concrete. This is the best way to protect the drying concrete.

Laying out the radiant floor heating.
This is the work from the past two weeks. You have to start at the bottom picture and scroll up to see the correct order. Sorry, I'm still figuring out this blog! Things are going well. The framework should be beginning this week if the weather cooperates!!!

Birthday Girl!

Friday was my 32nd birthday! My birthday treat was chocolate cookies baked by Trevor. This was his first time baking cookies, and he did a wonderful job! I got to choose between cake and cookies and I chose cookies which are my favorite! My actual birthday was pretty uneventful. I worked a half day, went for a run with Porter, ate take-out Indian food from our new restaurant, and enjoyed a nice glass of wine. Trevor unfortunately had to work so it was just Porter and I. My birthday present from my family will be an exercise bike. I would like to some duathlons this summer and I don't have time to train outdoors. It's easy to go for a run but a bike ride takes several hours and I don't want to leave Porter so long on my days off. I'm hoping to spend alot of time on my exercise bike in front of the TV (instead of sitting on the couch!).

My other exciting accomplishment this weekend was completing my first half marathon post-baby! I ran it with Anne-Marie and Amy and we did great. I felt good throughout the race but I am already starting to feel sore! Our time was about 2:07 which isn't too bad with minimal training! I'm hoping to do a couple more half marathons this spring and summer. Well, that is about it for now.

Back to a Working Woman!

This week I returned to work, I can't believe it's almost three months! I was able to ease back into things with half days which was very helpful. It is so hard to be away from Porter when I've been with him every day since he was born. I did feel good to be back at work though. Everyone at work made me feel very welcome and appreciated. I was also able to start with fairly light schedules. Today is Thursday which will be my day off which is great. Porter did great at daycare. He did much better than me dropping him off! I know is his taken very good care of at daycare. He looks so much smaller than all of the babies. It's amazing to compare him to a six month old or ten month old, they are huge! I can't believe how big he will be getting this year. His daycare keeps track of everything, including time of each naps, diaper changes, and feeding schedule. He is eating well there but he is only taking catnaps. He naps only 20-30 minutes at a time when he usually naps 1-1.5 hours at home. I know this is normal since it's noisy and light there. I think it will just take a little time.

In other news, the sunroom project is coming along. Trevor and Eddy poured the concrete last week and unfortunately it rained all day on it. It was not supposed to rain that day. The rain causes the concrete to be pitted and lighter. We put up a tarp to protect it and shovelled water off of the tarp all day and night for several days. The concrete slap turned out well and they were able to cut the pattern and acid stain it. We are currently waiting for a dry day to seal it. The pattern looks amazing and we are very excited about the room. I'll post some pictures soon. This is Trevor's month off so he is only working seven shifts. He has already worked three of them so he has alot of time off, which I think he plans to work on the sunroom but at least he's not in the ED!
