Happy Halloween!

We had a Hallow-Green parade at the school yesterday on October 30th.  The "green" is for Costa Verde's eco-friendly commitment so we were supposed to make costumes or use recycled costumes.  This was not an easy task since I am not very artistic plus there are no craft stores like Michael's in town.  I found some masks online and we did our best.

The parade consisted of each class walking down the outdoor area and then they stood in a circle and each costume group (animals, superheroes, witches, etc) were called in the center to dance.  The boys danced together which was cute.  Porter was more into it than Cooper.

Later that day we went back for a special Kinder 1 performance with Cooper's class.  His teacher, Miss Angelica, dressed them all as skeletons and they did a halloween dance and song. It was very cute!

My cool little guy!

Release of the baby sea turtles!

Last weekend I went to the nightly release of the baby sea turtles with Porter.  Cooper was exhausted from too much fun so he stayed home with my mom.  This occurs nightly at 7pm on the beach.  They release about 90-100 baby turtles.  You can hold them first and take photos and then they carry them in buckets down to the shore and  you set them on the beach where they walk into the ocean. It was a very cool experience for both of us and we will definitely do it again with Cooper.

Playa de los muertos

We found a great beach about ten minutes from the apartment, Playa de los muertos.  It's a great beach with very gentle waves that Porter could swim in.  He put on his goggles and had a blast!  Cooper could play in the waves without getting pushed down.  It is pure bliss!
