All smiles with his first pair of shoes!

Bath time!

He seems to enjoy the baths, except for getting his hair washed.

He was checking out the cute baby in the mirror!

All smiles:)

Hanging out on the front porch enjoying the sunshine, Porter stayed in the shade!

Billy worships the sun! He loves to bask!

Sooo cute! I hope I can always dress him in silly things like his froggy socks!

Figuring out the Bebe Pod, he tends to tilt.

A few more videos!

He was all smiles this morning. He loves lying on his changing table, I think it is because it's right by the window.

Porter enjoying a baby massage. I found some information about baby massage on the internet and Porter is a big fan! He likes the belly massage best:)

Spring Break!

My parents were down this week for spring break. My mom was so nice to offer to keep Porter downstairs in his pack-and-play for each night to give me a break. Wow, it's so nice to get a full night sleep. Our new sleep strategy is to give Porter a large bottle at 10pm. He can then make it about 5-6 hours which is about 3 or 4am to eat. After a bottle or nursing he will sleep until 7am. I keep hoping for an overnight stretch but I know that's alot to hope for since he is not even 3 months old yet. He is smiling, cooing and laughing alot! It truly melts my heart when he smiles at me, it looks like it takes so much energy for him and he is so proud of himself! While my parents were here we went to the Vancouver mall one afternoon. Porter got alot of compliments down there, he's such a cutie!

The big transition in our lives is the end of my maternity leave and the start of daycare. I start work in one week, yikes! I will start with half days for two weeks and then 3 full days will be my regular schedule. I think I'm ready to return to work and interacting with adults again. However, I am definitely not ready to leave Porter. I miss him when I'm gone for just a few hours. It will be a very tough transition for me, and probably Porter. I dropped off his stuff at daycare last week and there were alot of runny noses in the room. We will have to get ready for all of the viral illnesses that go along with daycare. As for now, I am trying to soak in the last week at home with my little boy. We're packing up his 0-3 month old clothes and getting out his 3-6 month clothes. He is getting so big, and very long. Thanks to Aunt Treloar we are fully stocked on clothes!

The sunroom project has been put on hold due to rain unfortunately. Trevor is hoping to get the next section inspected this week so he can pour the concrete floor on Thursday which is supposed to be the only non-rainy day this week. We'll see how it goes!

Some Videos!

Porter LOVES the mobile, he talks to all of the animals on it!

Cute Pie! I keep trying to capture his big smiles but missed them. He was in such a good mood though.

The sunroom project begins . . .

Billy doesn't understand why he can't go outside with everyone working on the sunroom:(

"Hey, remember me!"

Trevor and Eddy pouring concrete.

Trevor hauled 80lbs of concrete all morning long, what a day!

The concrete truck arrives bright and early on Saturday morning.

Hanging out in his high chair.
He loves playing under his play yard. Occasionally he will hit one of the toys on accident and make it jingle!

He spends 15 minutes playing under his mobile each morning which means breakfast and coffee for mommy! He absolutely loves it, and so do I!

Two month well child exam

Out little boy is growing fast. At his two month well-child exam he weighed 11lbs 8 oz (50th percentile) and he was 24 inches long (80th percentile). He is getting to be such a chub! He has little rolls on his legs and belly. Bath time is more fun because he is a little chunk in his tub. He likes bath time mostly because he likes being naked. He loves to lay on his changing table sans diaper which leads to alot of accidents. We also got out our high chair as another place to put him. He can at least see what we are doing when he is up higher.

In other exciting news, we broke ground on our sunroom this week. Trevor has been planning to build a sunroom for almost a year now. He designed the room using a computer program. It was approved by the county this fall which apparently is a pain to work with. So far this week they have excavated and layed the framework. We had inspection today which we passed! Tomorrow they will pour the concrete. It is exciting to see it coming together. We have already found some furniture but we want to wait until it's farther along until we purchase it.

Getting ready for St. Patrick's Day!

Kiss me, I'm Irish!

It's not cold here but I needed a picture in his cute snowsuit.

Two months old!

Daddy and Porter hanging out.
"what a big boy!"

Daddy pulling Porter in his walker. Billy gets very jealous.

His feet aren't even close to the ground!
I can't believe Porter is two months old already. He is doing great. He's getting chubby legs, a Buddha belly and a double chin! We go in for his two month well-child exam on Thursday so we'll see how much he weighs. He is almost out of his 0-3 month clothes, especially with his bulky cloth diaper! It has been a big month for Porter. He started making alot of eye contact, he is tracking well, and smiling. He is cooeing and he plays with his mobile or under his playyard toys up to 15 minutes by himself (which means a shower or cup of coffee for mommy!). Trevor had the past week off which was great for the family, it's so nice to have him home. One morning Porter was fussy so Trevor took him in the pool room. He returned with Porter in the walker (see the picture above!) and he had attached Billy's leash. Porter was having fun, or at least he was no longer crying. He pulled him around the house for awhile. Billy was terribly jealous.
Porter is still sleeping in 4 hour increments at night, we're hoping for longer stretches soon but we know it could be alot worse. I do hope he sleeps longer before I return to work in April. We have been able to put him in his crib awake and he can get himself to sleep (most of the time). He fusses and cries for a little while and then he is out! He has cried for up to an hour which is hard for mommy to hear. We decided to try this since it was taking us so long to get him to sleep each night. We would rock him, lie with him or pat his back for over an hour most nights and sometimes for naps as well. This was getting to be way too much time for us so we tried a new approach which is going pretty well.
Yesterday I snuck down to Portland for the morning to run the Shamrock run, a 15 K. The weather was beautiful and it was fun to get away and let Daddy and Porter have their time together. It was a hilly run and I am pretty sore today. I'm hoping to do more races soon. Well, that's about it for now.

Scary Monster!

As many of you know I love costumes. Billy has countless costumes including a ballerina, spider, pumpkin, reindeer, and the list goes on. Even our cat has a Santa costume which I torture him in each Christmas. So of course I will continue this with Porter. I couldn't help myself this past Halloween when all of the costumes when on clearance. Here is his little monster outfit. He already has a lion outfit for next Halloween as well!

Spring has Sprung!

The weather has been beautiful this winter. I have really lucked out with great weather while I have been on maternity leave. We have been able to run outside almost every day. Here are some pics that Trevor took around our house.

First date night!

We had a wonderful week with Trevor's mom, Mormor (Swedish for grandmother). She was a huge help and I really felt like I had a break. It is so nice to do simple things like eat breakfast or enjoy a cup of coffee without trying to hold a baby or entertain him. She even volunteered to give him a bottle at night so I could sleep from midnight until 6am which was a refreshing change from the usual up every 3-4 hours. That was certainly above and beyond the call of duty! She even babysat so Trevor and I had our first date since Porter was born. Of course we talked about him the entire time but what can you expect!

After she left my parents came to visit for two nights before heading to Vegas for the West Coast Conference basketball tournament. They went last year and had a blast and decided to return to root on Gonzaga! I have had so much help here I forgot how much more difficult it is to do it all by myself. Trevor also had one week off and has since returned to work so it is a quiet house tonight.
