Cooper: 4 months old
Our little guy is four months old! If I could freeze him at this stage I would (except for the sleep issues!). I absolutely love this age and I love seeing babies in clinic this age as well. Cooper is such a smiley, happy guy. He loves to talk. They call him the "storyteller" at daycare because he has alot of good things to share:) They tell me if he starts crying that they just have to put their face in front of him and smile and he is happy again. He doesn't play with baby toys yet but if he could have a smiling face two feet in front of him all day, life would be perfect. Life is pretty great for him regardless. He enjoys lying on top of Billy's kennel and kicking around. He also likes to lay under his playmat and look at his toys. He is starting to grab and hold onto them. At daycare he has a playmat with three bears on it. Apparently if he is fussy they put him under this toy and he is happy again. They call it the "best friend bears".
His hair continues to be fabulous. It usually sticks up. He has started to lose his hair in the back and on the sides somewhat similar to "male-pattern baldness". It's hilarious. Everyone comments on his crazy hairdo.
He loves to watch his big brother. Porter likes to play music for him and read to him, it's absolutely adorable. I think he is going to spend endless hours watching his crazy big brother!
And now for the bad . . . he is a terrible sleeper! He has regressed with sleeping and gets up every 1.5 - 2 hours ALL NIGHT LONG!!! He wants to nurse throughout the night. We switched him from his bassinet to the regular playyard and it is not going well. The bassinet was more like a cradle but he outgrew it. We still swaddle him but as soon as he can roll over I'll let him roll over and sleep on his tummy. I think he'll do alot better. Last night we made him "cry it out" after waking up three times by 2AM. He woke up fussy, crying and with a fever so I feel really bad that he was probably up because he was sick.
We had our four month well-child exam today. We found out he had an ear infection and have started him on amoxicillin. He got out of his shots today because of the fever. We'll go back next week for the shots. He is growing, eating and doing everything he should be doing (except sleeping but that is my opinion!). His length is 25 inches (70%). He weighs 13.8 lbs(30%) and his head circumference is 17.5 inches (95%!). It looks like he may take after Porter and Daddy being tall and lean.

Picture Day!
We had pictures with Melody last week. I can't believe Cooper is almost four months old!!! And big brother Porter had 2 year pictures as well. I had big plans for pictures of the boys separately, together and even some family photos. Needless to say it did not happen! We got alot of cute pictures of the boys separately but very few together and I think we have one or two family pictures. Melody is still editing them but I will share the link. She is such a great friend and photographer and we always enjoy seeing her. Despite the craziness of the shoot, we always manage to get some good pictures!

Picture Post II
We made pizzas while Mormor was in town. Porter enjoyed helping flatten out the dough! He is a natural baker and enjoys working with me in the kitchen. As you can imagine, he's a huge help:)

Picture Post
Here are a few pictures of the boys. It's hard to get a good picture of the two of them but we try! We also have a few pictures from Lake Cushman which is a small lake near Olympia where my biological father has a cabin. It's a beautiful lake and home and we are excited to visit this summer!
We recently had a wonderful visit with Mormor. We went to the Portland zoo and had a fabulous day. Porter enjoyed all of the reading and attention. We even had a few days of sunshine!

Cooper: 3 Months Old
Our little baby is 3 months old. He is no longer a "newborn" and looks like a baby. I saw a 2-week old yesterday and Cooper looks like a baby Sumo wrestler in comparison. He has become the happiest little guy. He loves to smile and talk. He coos to everyone who looks at him. Each day when I pick him up from daycare they tell me how happy and smiley he is all day. He is definitely a "talker" like his big brother. He is already quite the charmer, which he also gets from Porter. It's going to be so interesting to see how his personality develops.
He continues to be a great nurser and he is taking the bottle well at daycare. I can tell he's growing like crazy because he is fitting into 6 month clothes. I am about to make the switch to the 3-6 months clothes!
He is a pretty average sleeper. He sleeps between 3-5 hour stretches but usually 3-4 hours at a time. He has surprised us with two 6-hour stretches which is great except I wake up and wonder when he's going to start crying. He goes down for naps and bedtime pretty good. I remember holding Porter for up to two hours while he cried before we had to implement "cry it out." Though we have had a few difficult evenings most of the time he is so tired that he falls asleep immediately without a sound.
He enjoys lying on Billy's kennel and looking out the window. Porter loved to do this as well, I think it's the large window. He also likes to play under his playmat. He has a small monkey toy that he can stare at forever - it's just a silly stuffed monkey! He is not a big unless it's for naps but he does like sitting in the bouncer and watching mommy cook and take care of crazy big brother!
He is fascinated with Porter and often smiles at him even if Porter isn't looking. I think he's going to enjoy watching him as he gets older. He seems intimidated by Billy. His eyes get huge as Billy walks by but I imagine he looks like a giant!
All in all, we could not be happier. My only request is that time slows down . . . and that he sleeps more! It's such a cute stage and I don't want it to end!
