Blowing Kisses

Porter has a new skill . . . he can blow kisses! It's absolutely adorable. He first did it with Trevor as they were leaving the bank. Trevor thought he was trying to make a sound with his hand to his mouth but he was blowing kisses! He later did it with me and it's too cute! He must have learned this at daycare because I don't think we have worked on this with him. He now can wave and blow kisses -- it's quite the good-bye!

Oregon Coast Weekend

While Daddy is on a guy's trip to Maui, my mom and I decided to take an overnight trip to Manzanita on the Oregon Coast. We left early Sunday morning. Porter does not like road trips in the morning! That is his designated play time so he hates being strapped in a car seat. We had a long two hour trip there! We stopped at a farmer's market, Costco and finally to Cannon Beach. It was raining all day unfortunately. We had a great lunch and then headed into Manzanita to see my Godparents. They have a cute house but it is filled with lots of breakable figurines. It was a dream for Porter but too much to handle. We headed to our hotel across from the beach and were able to take a nice walk on the beach. We went out to dinner with my godparents and played cards in our room. Fortunately we had an extra room so Porter could head to bed after dinner!

The following morning it was beautiful and sunny. We went out for coffee and a bagel and then enjoyed a walk around town and on the beach. Billy and I were able to take a run as well. We met my godparents for lunch and then headed home. It was a nice little getaway. It's certainly not Maui but nice to be on the beach!

Waving Goodbye

Porter has a new skill . . . he can wave goodbye. It just started yesterday. As Trevor picked him up at daycare, he started running toward him and turned and waved goodbye to the daycare worker. She had told him goodbye! We didn't know he could wave yet. Since yesterday he has been waving this evening as well. He waved to me as he climbed the stairs for bedtime. He still can't say goodbye but I think it's coming soon. He has said things that sound similar.

He also loves to spin. We say "twirl" or spin ourselves and he imitates us. He loves to twirl!!! He will go several times and them be dizzy when he starts walking. He also knows what the clock is. We ask him "Where's the clock?" and he will point to it or look at it. He has been obsessed with clocks for awhile now so he does love them.
