Lake Roosevelt
We just spent the week at Lake Roosevelt with my sister and her family. It was a wonderful week full of sunshine, swimming and relaxation. We rented a cabin (thank you mom and dad!) on the Lake with its own private beach. Unfortunately my parents could not join us due to my mother's surgery. We spent the week boating, jet skiing and relaxing on the beach. The weather was perfect and the water was warm. Porter absolutely loved the swimming. We brought his froggy tube (see pics below) that had sun protection so he could enjoy the water. We also brought 3 beach umbrellas to stay fully protected from the sun. His fair skin will not do well in the sun I can already tell! Even Billy got to come enjoy the vacation. Unfortunately Porter did not sleep well the entire week. He was up several times each night and was only happy when we brought him into bed with us. We are having to break his habit now that we are back home so it's been a tough transition back but he is doing better. After filling the Honda Pilot to roof we realized that we will eventually need to get a roof top carrier, but that is down the road. All in all, it was a wonderful week!

Seven Months old!
Porter was seven months old on Friday!!! Wow, time keeps flying by. He has hit some major milestones last month. The biggest one is that he is sleeping through the night!!! Although it doesn't happen every night, it is majority of the nights!!! Yeah for us! Even when he wakes up he no longer wants to eat. He either is awake and talking or wants his binky back in and will fall back asleep. Words cannot describe how wonderful it is to sleep through the night again! He is also sitting up on his own. He can sit up and play with his toys for ten to fifteen minutes on his own. He has a basket of toys and he can pick what he wants. His favorite toys are Sophie the giraffe, rings, jack in the box and his exersaucer. He seems fascinated with the tags on toys, it's funny because it looks like he is trying to read it. He does a pretty good job on his own but once we start talking and playing with him he wants our full attention. He will start coughing (which means he is mad) or lifting his arms to be picked up. He likes attention! He is rolling around now. He can really get around with rolling and pushing off the ground to move. We need to start child-proofing soon. I found him underneath the Futon in his room yesterday after leaving him a minute earlier on his play mat. He was happy as can be. He still likes being carried around in the Ergo but he is getting heavy to carry. We no longer use our car seat in the stroller (we have passed it on to Baby Ohna). He can sit front facing in the stroller to enjoy the view! We've been swimming at the YMCA several times now and he likes the water. He does pretty well with putting his face in the water. We blow on his face and dunk him and he comes out with a surprised look in his face but he doesn't cry so far. I think he's going to be a little swimmer. He is still fascinated with Billy and waiting to get attention from him. Billy pays no attention to him yet! We are excited to see what the upcoming month brings. We are currently just enjoying the days before he really starts to get mobile!

Bedtime with Daddy!
This evening Trevor put Porter to bed since he hasn't been home all week. After twenty minutes had passed I decided to go up to see what was going on since bedtime usually takes only five minutes. I found Trevor asleep on the floor while Porter was playing with his toys. Porter was more awake than when they had gone up twenty minutes earlier! Apparently Porter was rolling all over his room and found several toys to play with. He is definitely mobile, fortunately he's slow because he has to roll and push to get around. This morning Trevor watched him move all over his crib with rolling and pushing to see all of the animals on his bumper. Eventually Porter noticed Trevor watching him and was delighted that he had company! It is hilarious to watch him learn and discover. He is now fast asleep in his crib.
