First Weekend Away!
I spent my first weekend away last week for my 10 year college reunion. I left Friday evening after work and spent two wonderful nights with old friends. It was a great weekend!!! I returned home Sunday afternoon to my happy boys! Trevor did a great job with Porter all weekend long. It sounds like he slept well and played hard all day (like he loves to do!). He did have some relief with a babysitter on Saturday. He also went down to a pumpkin carving party where he got additional support! He did carve a very cool pumpkin which we'll get a picture of soon. I definitely consider it a success and would have no hesitation to do it again!

Pumpkin Hunting
We went to a local pumpkin patch last week. The pumpkins were not great since I think the summer weather was bad but we still found a good one! There is a small petting farm at the patch so Porter was able to meet newborn piglets, goats, a brave kitten (see pic below with Billy), and calves. He didn't have much of a reaction to all of the animals unlike Billy who was having the time of his life!!! Billy's favorite was a pen of 5 or 6 ducks, he couldn't believe how close he could get to them and they couldn't get away! Enjoy the pictures below.
9 Months Old and 9 Month Well Child Exam
Well, our little guy is nine months old! He is more social and active than ever!!! He is constantly talking away. He loves all of the animals and has learned how to climb onto Billy. We had our nine month well child exam and he weighed 19lb 3oz (25%) and was 28 inches long (25%). I guess he's totally proportional:) He got his flu shot and didn't even cry. I dressed him in his Lion halloween costume to say hi to everyone in my office as well. We will not be here for halloween so I need to get some use out of the costume! Here are some of his major accomplishments this month:
-Crawling and Standing up! He is starting to cruise along the furniture but is still pretty slow (thankfully!).
-He continues to smile, laugh, and TALK TALK TALK!!! Trevor is worried how much of a talker he is!
-He continues to be social. He loves to stare at people until they look at him and then he'll dazzle them with his smile. He is quite the charmer:)
-He stands up beside his toys and can push the buttons to play music. He mostly likes to hit his toys onto the top of it!
-Today we were told that he stands up beside other babies in bouncers at day care and hits them on the head (not a proud mommy moment).
-Says "mommommmomm" but not referring to me just part of his talk.

Portland Marathon 10-10-10
I ran my 6th marathon yesterday. It was a cold and rainy morning unfortunately which made for a fairly unpleasant marathon. We were pretty drenched before the race began. The wind picked up in the beginning but didn't last throughout the race (at least one thing went well). I dropped my ipod on the porta-potty floor (gross!) in addition to an already bad start to the marathon. My socks were completely soggy as well. The race itself went fine. I was pretty tired by mile 18 but we finished. If they would have let us have the option to run a half marathon I would have probably taken that! Fortunately that was not allowed in the race so we were forced to keep going. It was my longest marathon 4:31 and probably the most miserable with the rain. I at least had good company to keep me going throughout the race and the crowd was wonderful!!! I was able to take a long nap with Porter in the afternoon and Trevor and I celebrated at a local Mexican restaurant. For some reason I started craving Mexican half-way through the run. Today I am actually feeling well. I am still taking some tylenol and ibuprofen but doing well otherwise. I'll probably take Porter for a walk while Trevor and Billy run this afternoon.
Two Teeth!!!
Porter has two bottom teeth coming up! I noticed them last week. I saw something shiny on his bottom gums while he was smiling. His gums aren't red or swollen and they don't seem to be bothering him much. They are still really small but his smile will look a little different now! It has not caused any problems breastfeeding either (which is good for Porter!). We will try to get a picture of them soon!

Standing up!
Well, Porter accomplished another big milestone this week. He crawled last week and is standing up this week. He will hold onto one of his toys and can stand tall. It is easier for him on a soft surface like the bed but he can do it on the carpet as well. He isn't cruising anywhere but he is very proud of himself. We have a standing toy that plays music and he can get up and turn the music on! Now that he is crawling he has found all of the wrong things to play with! It seems like he goes straight to the most dangerous areas to play. We have a lot of child-proofing to do still including the kiddy gate, kitchen cabinets (which he is already opening), and clutter around the house that he can pull over on himself. He already pulled the chair over with his walker. I moved my cook books up on the desk and put his books down near the floor. He likes to pull them all off several times a day. I need to just let him play and pick up at the end of the day rather than three times a day! We have all of our outlets covered which he is fascinated with. He also likes any cords that are on the ground (we're not sure how to hide those yet?). He is now moving in a full sprint with his walker chasing both of us and all of the animals around the house. He absolutely loves it! The animals all hate it!
