Porter: 3 years 2 months
Porter has been such a fun little guys recently. He had a rough patch (who am I kidding it was his entire second year) but we are coming out of it. His behavior is improving and his language skills are taking off which makes for a really fun kiddo! We have him in a morning preschool two days per week which he loves. He started at a local parks and rec program which he loved and then moved him to a preschool closer to home. He goes from 9-11:45 and askes to go to school daily. He get to do "show-and-tell" at school which I would love to hear. Today they had a humane society volunteer come and talk about animal safety and how to approach dogs. She even brought her yellow lab - I bet he looked familiar!
His language is taking off. He speaks in full sentences. We find ourselves answering the same questions five times in a row as well. He counts to 20 in english and to 10 in spanish. He can name more dinosaurs than most five-year olds!
He is passionate about dinosaurs. We have tons of books on all sorts of dinosaurs, most which I have not heard of. He has wood blocks from Trevor's childhood which he makes caves in and plays with his dinosaurs in the caves. He can spend all day playing with them. He seems to have moved on from Thomas the train and Cars, at least for now.
He likes to go to the zoo. He asks at least once a week if we can go to the zoo. He also plays a zoo game on Trevor's ipad which talks about fun facts about each of the animals. He like to name them mommy, daddy and baby and ask wha they are doing.
His potty training is going great except for naps and bedtime which will come with time. He is staying dry many nights which is exciting!
He continues to be a picky eater. He typically eats a banana and waffle for breakfast and a PB sandwich or chicken for lunch and dinner. His snacks or sides are yogurt, avocado or apple slices. He does not eat much more than that even though we offer him many different meals.
He is getting tall and slim. He likes to give kisses especially wet ones! He also likes to call Grandma and Mormor. He has funny facial expressions and still is terrible at taking pictures. He love his daddy to the moon and we love him too!
