11 Months Old!

Porter turned 11 months old two days ago. Wow, this mama cannot believe he is almost one year old! He continues to grow by leaps and bounds. We can already see him moving quickly toward a toddler rather than a baby. He has hit some major milestones this month:

- He has weaned himself from breastfeeding. He decided that "he is a big boy" and he no longer wants to nurse. It was a rapid weaning process but we both seem to be doing well. I was a little sad in the beginning but we're doing well now.

-He quit eating baby food. He decided that he only wants to feed himself rather than be fed baby food which unfortunately means that he does not eat much. He still is not very good at feeding himself. He did, interestingly, eat a couple jars of baby food yesterday and today. Perhaps he only wants the store-bought foods rather that mommy's home made food, little stinker!

-First steps!!! He took his first steps yesterday at 11 months 1 day. I set him in the middle of the kitchen, walked around in front of him and he walked two small steps and fell into my arms! He was tired since it was almost bedtime but he did it!!!

- Cruising like crazy! He moves all over the place!

- Shaking head, he shakes his head back and forth and then laughs. He likes to be sure that everyone sees him.

- First hair cut! My sister cut his hair after Thanksgiving. He did not like it. We did it in several intervals and he is a handsome little guy!

- Baptism. We had his Baptism the Sunday after Thanksgiving. He was a chatty guy in church, whoops! All-in-all he did a really good job and it was a very special night.
