We've had such a busy week I have finally been able to sit down and write about our wonderful weekend. Aunt Tara, Trevor's sister, visited last weekend from Atlanta. She arrived late Friday night just in time to meet Porter during his late-night feeding. On Saturday we all went for a run, except Billy who started limping within minutes of starting the run so I left him in the car. We had a relaxing day before heading to Portland for dinner. We had a babysitter so it was a relaxing and enjoyable evening at one of my favorite restaurants, Oba! We stopped by Best Buy on the way there. We've been looking into laptops since both of our computers are at the end of their rope. We ended up buying two laptops with accessories!!! It was quite a shopping trip, especially for Trevor who hates to spending money!
On Sunday we got up, had a nice breakfast and decided to go for a hike. The weather wasn't great but at least it was not raining. We did a new hike at Dog Mountain which is on the Washington side of the Columbia gorge. The hike was 7 miles and very steep! It ended in a field of wildflowers which was absolutely beautiful. Porter did great in his back pack but he was definitely ready to be done with the hike! We unfortunately still had an hour and a half drive home which he slowly had a melt down on the way home.
On Monday we were all sore so we relaxed around the house. In the afternoon we walked around the lake in Longview. It turned out to be a nice afternoon. We treated ourselves to some Blizzards which is a favorite for Trevor and his whole family!
On Tuesday, Trevor's birthday, we decided to put Porter in a half day of day care so we could head down to Portland again. We picked up our computer which was getting a program on it at Best Buy and then headed out to lunch. Then . . . we all got massages at a spa in Portland! It was a treat for all of us. Trevor never wants to do stuff like that but I think he was so sore he was up for it. We all enjoyed ourselves:) We had a birthday dinner and cake for dinner that night along with more Blizzards (yes, that is two nights in a row!). Tara headed home on Wednesday morning and I went back to work. It was such a wonderful visit!
Porter unfortunately still is sick, it is almost five weeks straight of a cough and runny nose. The poor little guy is really sick of being sick! He is waking up night coughing and sneezing. He also has regressed with going to sleep. We were putting him down awake and he was getting himself to sleep fine but since he's been sick things are moving in the wrong direction! He is now crying up to an hour when we put him to sleep. Even when we go back in his room to comfort him he will start crying again when we lay him back down. I'm hoping this is just a "sick" thing because I was so proud of him for getting to bed on his own. We'll see how things go.
I will post pictures soon once I transfer them to my new computer. Stay tuned!
