August/September Pictures 2014

Sweet brothers!

Cooper fell asleep on Porter in the shopping cart.  It was so sweet until I looked down and saw Porter poking him in the eyes.  There is never a dull moment!

I took the boys to Cannon Beach for a day in September.  We went to the Manzanita Labor Day BBQ and were able to see my godparents, Dorence and Sharon Cote.  They joined us at the beach for a bit afterwards.  The boys LOVED playing in the sand and surf.

Animal crawling, of course!

Lunch at IKEA -- always a hit!

My attempt at a fancy food picture.  It is pesto zucchini "pasta" with tomatoes.  It is all fresh from Lauren's farm minus the pesto which is store bought.

The boys first experience rock climbing and they did great!  We went to Club Sport in Tigard and they both loved going up the wall.  Porter made it 3/4 up the wall and Cooper went 1/2 way up the wall.  Fearless!

Daddy, aka the "belayer"

We went to the Scottish Highlander Festival which is an annual event in Longview.  We went on a pirate ship ride (not sure how it relates to Scotland?) and there was a goat on the ride.  Again, a random find but a huge hit for the boys!  I had no idea there was such a large Scottish contingency in the area.

Porter is inside the giant bubble!!!

There he goes!  He didn't get that he should try to walk or run in the bubble but he had fun.

We went to Hood River for a day and I had no idea there was such a great beach and park.  The boys both got in the river though briefly because it was cold!  They loved the rock climbing wall.

I love this one!  Roar!!!

Cooper gets his chance to roar at one too!

Portland summer pictures

Farm to Table dinner with Lauren, Nadine and Grace at Zenger's Farm.  It was a delicious five-course meal made mostly from the local farm with local chefs.

Sunset on the farm

Fishing at the Trout farm on Mt. Hood!!!  The boys caught two fish!

"petting" the catch

First camping trip!  The boys went swimming in the very brown Sandy River.  It was freezing but they did not mind.

Canby Fair.  They got to ride ponies.  Cooper fell in love with a baby pygmy goat.  Porter went crazy petting all of the animals.  It was heaven for them!

One of my least favorite events thus far . . . Portland Reptile Expo.  Lucky for us everything was for sale.  Yuck!  We went home with two beaded toy dragons which happens to be one of the favorites for the boys now after watching the movie 'How to Tame a Dragon.'

Cooper cruising around with Jen Albertini's youngest son, Mateo.
