Lake Chelan

We spent the past week at Lake Chelan with rather rainy, dreary weather. We got the timeshare to have a local getaway each summer for fun in the sun near the lake. It was very unusual weather for June so we are hopeful it was a fluke year and will be excited to return next year. We loved the resort with the pools, gym and lakefront setting. The day was the most sunny and we were able to swim in the pool and hot tub. Unfortunately the other days were overcast or rainy. Sunday morning we rented a boat and went wakeboarding for a few hours. It was alot of fun! We have not been boating for two years since Lake Roosevelt. We picked up Porter and let him ride around for awhile but he fell asleep! We took him out last year on the jet ski and he fell asleep again. I couldn't believe it! We thought he would be more excited. Oh well! The rest of the week we went to the playground, worked out and spent alot of time indoors playing. Trevor fortunately packed a bunch of toys so we had a full Thomas train track and many of Porter's favorite toys. The condo is 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms with a full living room so we had plenty of space to spread out. We cooked most meals and at home but we did go out to a great winery the first night and listened to live music with a beautiful view. It was our one sunny evening and it was gorgeous! Our last evening we went to another winery for wine tasting and then my sister, brother-in-law, Trevor and I went to a cute Italian restaurant. We arrived home Friday afternoon to rainy Longview. Where is the summer!??? We are hoping it warms up tomorrow so we can go to the pool.

Cooper: 6 months old

Goodness I have been delinquent on posting on the blog. Cooper turned 6 months old on May 28th! He is so much fun and such a happy guy. He loves to laugh and smile. He has noticed when we put him down and is starting to demand more attention. He loves it when we talk to him. He definitely is a social baby and likes to be a part of the action! Who can blame him? He loves his big brother. He is so fascinated with Porter and all that he does. Unfortunately Porter is not as fascinated with his baby brother. I think that Porter is starting to notice that Cooper takes some of daddy's attention. As we all know, Porter loves his daddy and wants ALL of his attention:) Cooper's major milestones are: - Smiling, laughing, cooing, and babbling (bababa, dadada) - Rolling over from tummy to back and sometimes he can go the other way - Sleeping on his tummy but that has not helped his sleep much. He still wakes up several times nightly. - Eating solids! He loves rice cereal. He also eats sweet potatoes, peas (but he does not like them), avocados, applesauce, pears, prunes, peaches, bananas (he does not like these either). I have been making his food like I did with Porter's. It's so easy and cheap and I hope to continue. I didn't think I'd have time for this but so far it's working out. - Sitting up on his own. This is new as of the last week. He inevitably ends up on his back or doing a face dive but he can sit up for awhile. - Fascinated with TV and/or the radio. Trevor says that "It's genetic" that he loves TV but he will crane his head around trying to see what is on. We usually do not have it on when the boys are downstairs but I'm sure he will take after Porter (and most kids) and want to watch! We had his 6 month well child exam last week. He weighs 16 lbs (25%) and his length is 27 inches (75%). He is tracking Porter's growth charts almost exactly which is funny because we both think Cooper looks more chubby. He is doing everything else that he should be doing at 6 months old. He is about a month behind Porter so far with milestones but doing great all around! We are thrilled with our happy, smiley lil' guy!

Guys Trip to Maui!

Trevor just went Maui on a guys' trip with four friends. They had a great time and spent each day windsurfing, biking and paddleboarding. It does not sound like there was any relaxing by the pool! They stayed at a friend's condo which is right on the beach. Here are a few pictures of the trip!
