Another slide video

Sliding like a BIG BOY video!

17 Months Old!

Wow, our little guy is quickly turning into a big boy!!! He doesn't even look like a baby anymore which is so sad for me. He is definitely a toddler. He is ALL BOY . . . he runs, laughs, climbs everything, likes to be chased and flees from mommy and daddy! He absolutely loves daycare still which makes me very happy. He gets down and runs to the teachers. There are no tears. Occassionally he will want us to sit and play for a few minutes but he never throws a fit (unlike many other kids in his class). They have a baby buggy which sits 3 kids in a row with 3 rows of seating. Apparently they all love being pushed around and cry when they have to get out. Porter's 17 month milestones are:

- Words: Car, Clock, Shoe (He isn't saying mama or dada much).

- Signs: Eat, More

- He can climb onto chairs including Trevor's work chair and reach up and grab the phone or put it back.

- He can go down playground slides all by himself. We just spot him. He doesn't want us to slide with him anymore!

- He likes to ride his radio flyer bike.

- Facial expressions: He has started to dart his eyes to the side when he is trying to be silly or wants to get a reaction from us. It's hilarious!

- He eats with a fork. He also likes to color but he gets the crayon everywhere.

And lastly, he is unfortunately becoming more of a toddler and we have had a sneak peek of "tantrums." It's not a pretty sight!

Lincoln City Memorial Day Weekend

Porter and I had our first getaway last weekend to meet up with some Florence friends in Lincoln City. I drove with Porter after work on Friday and we went directly to our hotel. We spent Saturday and Sunday morning with about 20 of my friends from Florence. Some I have not seen in years! It was a wonderful weekend to see everyone and introduce them to Porter. Unfortunately the vacation house they were staying in was not childproof so I spent my days chasing Porter around the house and up and down the stairs! Next time I will definitely bring baby gates when I travel to a vacation rental. We got to do a little shopping at the outlet mall and Porter is now sporting size 6 shoes! We headed back on Sunday so we still had all Monday to relax together.

More language skills!

Well, Porter's communication skills are coming slowly but surely. He loves clocks and is now trying to say it. He can't quite get it but he keeps trying. He loves to point to all of the clocks he sees around our house and at stores. He also can sign "eat" which is putting his fingers together and pointing them toward his mouth. I picked him up at daycare this week and he signed "eat" and then he quickly changed it to blowing kisses. He gives the world's best goodbyes with his wave and kisses!
